Pregnancy and Prenatal Stimulation of Babies

Newsflash

Prenatal stimulation is a process that encourages learning in unborn babies optimizing mental and sensory development. Valuable research has shown that stimuli such as soft and melodious sounds, the human voice, especially the mother's, as well as light and vibrations are pleasurable to the baby.

Visualization Exercises
(Looking with your eyes' mind at the colors you need)

Following the idea that color is a tool to modify behavior, some researchers have found that the color pink has a calming effect. Green tends to tranquilize and produce equilibrium, Violet has an intense electrochemical power, when the person is under strong cardiovascular and nervous tension, the violet color helps to harmonize and synchronize different functions of the organism. Blue produces serenity and even produces a cold sensation, it has the most tranquilizing effect besides pink. Orange colors rise the blood pressure and the activity of certain cerebral waves and breathing increases frequency.

In some investigations evidence has been found that certain colors and muscles work together. For example, some colors induce relaxation but others induce muscular tension. Knowing these facts, it seems possible to induce the uterus opening visualizing certain colors. By this, it is possible that the dilation of the uterus could be obtained faster and, in consequence, delivery process could be shorter and faster.

The core idea is to imagine the dilation of the uterus from 0 cm. to 10 cm. associating the process with colored circles. You can make your own colored circles with construction paper and with the following characteristics:

  • A pink circle of 2 cm of diameter
  • A light green circle of 4 cm of diameter
  • A violet circle of 6 cm of diameter
  • A light blue circle of 8 cm of diameter
  • An orange apple circle of 10 cm of diameter

It is important to train yourself to visualize this circles. Take them one by one and observe every circle, concentrate, then close your eyes and try to see it in your mind. Practice this exercise until you can have a perfect visualization of every color and shape. During the delivery process (please read the page related to childbirth) visualize the colors in this sequence:
When contractions occur every 10 to 15 minutes and last 20 seconds     Visualize the pink circle
To help your uterus to arrive to a opening of 4 cm.     Visualize the light green circle
When you feel contractions every 5 minutes (30-40 seconds each)     Visualize the violet circle
When contractions occur every 3 to 4 minutes     Visualize the light blue circle
When contractions occur every 2 or 3 minutes     Visualize the orange circle
